Fundraising for Charity with Universal Education Aid
Want to get involved in charity events or charity fundraising? Raise money for UEA by joining a sponsored event, one of our events or set up your own – it could be the most fun you have all year, all while making a difference!
Host a Bring and Buy Sale
A Bring and Buy Sale is a fantastic way to get friends and families or people within a community together, for a good cause and you could be the one providing an opportunity for people to be able to make a difference.
Encourage everyone who attends to bring something to sell that is in good condition. Items could be unwanted books, toys, décor, electronics, clothing, etc. Make your Bring and Buy event the perfect place to buy great value second-hand or new items for the children and the home.
Host a Bake-off
Everyone loves a bake-off!
Give them a chance to show off their skills and raise money for UEA at the same time. Could you add an element of competition and offer a prize for the best bake?
Cakes, biscuits, and sweet treats which can be sold individually rather than one large item are always winners. Cakes can be made as cupcakes, or a large piece of cake can be sold in slices.
Host a Summer BBQ
Summer BBQ is such a brilliant fundraising idea as it gets friends and family together to do good.
Summer barbecue is often a hotly anticipated event. Charge a small fee for a set BBQ favourite / menu. To add an extra layer of enjoyment and excitement, approach local musicians to provide the entertainment or switch the stereo on and play some popular tunes which are bound to draw everyone to the dance floor.
Host a Quiz Night
Quiz Nights can be held either as an in-person or online event. If opting for online, online platforms which facilitate interactions could be used. You can build the quiz using a website like Kahoot!, which allows you to insert photos and clips. Entry fees may be charged for teams and for those without a team, individual entry should be made possible.
To maximise engagement, offer prizes for the team with the best name, the team with the highest score, etc. How about holding a raffle to generate additional funds? The support of local businesses can be sought for the prizes.
